Information for parents
At Skipsea School, we recognise that your child is our responsibility and concern. We want to work in partnership with you, and discuss with you, any concerns we may have or that you may have.
It is a priority to inform and involve you at every stage in your child’s time at the school.
Since the first priority is your child’s welfare, there may be rare occasions when our concern about your child means that we have to consult other agencies even before we contact you.
The ER Safeguarding Children Board has laid down the procedures we follow, and the school has adopted a Child Protection Policy in line with this for the safety of all.
Lead Designated Safeguarding Person is Mrs Shiels
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Person is Mrs Marsh
If you want to know more about our procedures or the policy, please speak to the Head teacher or your child’s class teacher or Ms Morgan Muir who is the Governor with responsibility for Child Protection.
Our latest Child Protection Policy (September 2019) and Code of Conduct Policy can be found under Policies on this website
The current threat from Terrorism and Extremism in the United Kingdom is real and severe and can involve the exploitation of vulnerable people, including children and young people.
With this information, we hope to provide a clear framework to structure and inform our response to safeguarding concerns for those young people who may be vulnerable to the messages of extremism. In addition, it provides details of the local inter agency process and expectations in identifying appropriate interventions based on the threshold of need and intervention model and the Channel process.
