The School aims to:

  • Provide a high quality of education ensuring that all learners have equality of opportunity and personal growth.

  • Encourage everyone to achieve in a happy, safe, secure and caring environment.

  • Equip the school community with a passion for learning to enable them to become independent, resilient learners who strive to reach their full potential in life.

  • Promote respect for all, self-esteem and emotional well-being, to enable achievement of high standards of behaviour and positive attitudes.

  • Celebrate differences and diversity and equip learners with the core values so that they positively participate in and contribute to life in Modern Britain and the global world.

From September 2020, due to cohort sizes, the school will be organised into three mixed age classes as follows:

Class 1 will be Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 class and will be taught by Mrs Fallon and Mrs Kell.

Class 2 will be Year 3 and Year 4 and will be taught by Mrs Stokes.

Class 3 will be Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 and will be taught by Mrs Hansell

The school website will continue to provide medium term planning information for parents and members of the public each term about what the children in each class will be learning about in different areas of the curriculum. Each class has a blog on the website which may also provide information about what the children have been doing. At least once a term, Parents and Carers (or other family members) are invited into ‘Show and Share’ sessions where they can look through the children’s work with their child across different areas of the curriculum.

Parents or members of the public who want to find out further information about our curriculum can contact the school and arrange to either speak to the relevant Class teacher or the Assistant Head (Mrs Hansell) or the Head teacher (Mrs Shiels).

(Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 we are unable to invite Parents/Carers into school at this time).

Please don't hesitate to contact us if there is any further assistance we can give.

The parent carer forum is organising a workshop for parent carers to inform them about “The new SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities) Assessment/Planning Process and SEN Support in Schools (formerly School Action & School Action Plus).”

Please note the child/young person does not need a diagnosis or need to have a statement or Education, Health and Care plan for the parent carer to attend.

For more information about services that may be of interest to parent carers of children (0 - 25 yrs) with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities, and professionals who work with them, please visit the East Riding of Yorkshire local offer website

We are delighted to announced the school has, once again, been awarded the Basic Skills Primary Quality Mark Award (21/01/19).

The award promotes, supports and celebrates progress and improvements made by a school in English and Mathematics. There are 10 elements of the Quality Mark framework which are assessed and externally examined.
