Today you will be finding about about the work of naturalists.

What is a naturalist? What do they do? Do you know of any famous naturalists? Read the slides to find out what a naturalist is and what they do. 

Year 5 - Read the descriptions of the two naturalists on the Famous Naturalists sheet. Then answer the questions about the impact of human behaviour on the environment which the naturalists identified. Then describe what necessary changes are identified to improve the environment. 

Year 6 - Choose one of the naturalists to research and produce a presentation about. The presentation could take the form of a report, a poster, a booklet or a slide show. Worksheet 6B has some questions to help you.
