Topic and afternoons for the week for all year groups
MUSIC - In this lesson, we will learn what pitch is and how we can recognise high, middle and low sounds.
PE - In this lesson, we will dance three parts of the story, Jack and the Beanstalk. We will use our imaginations to act out these parts through movement, using pathways, changing directions, changing speeds and carrying different objects. Please note this lesson will require some physical exercise and additional equipment, beyond a pen, pencil or paper. Please see the equipment slide near the start of the lesson video and make sure your child is adequately supervised when equipment is required. Parents and carers are responsible for ensuring that children follow the correct safety advice provided at the start of this lesson and the instructions the teacher gives during the lesson. Parents and carers are responsible for supervising activities where required and for seeking medical advice in advance if your child has a medical condition that may prevent them taking part in physical activity.
An alternative to this would be to have some races in the garden with your household and pretend to have a sports day! You could do an egg and spoon race, an obstacle race and skipping race like we would do at school!
ART - Why not spend some time drawing a picture of something you find in your garden - look very carefully to observe all about the object so you can draw it accurately. Why not use your pencil to add shade and tone to your picture?
Please spend some time each day this week listening to your child read or give them time to read on their own if they can. Log onto www.oxfordowl.co.uk - if you need the log in and password please let me or school know.
Don't forget to have some playtime too!
I will contact you all later in the week. In the meantime - please take care.

English - Please listen to the story of Man on the Moon by Simon Bartram - The link is found on last weeks lessons... Once you have listened to the story our first job is to create a story map showing what Bob does each day. Then we are writing sentences to go with each picture to write the beginning of the story, the middle of the story and finally the end of the story. You will get the sheet for these in your home pack we will send you on Tuesday. You will also find the links to them here if you want to print them yourselves....
Foundation children, why don't you have a try telling your grown up the story of man on the moon. Talk about your favourite bits of the story and whether you like the story or not! Have a think about what Bob might have in his pack up and what he will need to take with him to the moon to help him with his job?! Can you draw pictures of the story?

In History we are learning more about Neil Armstrong. Have a go completing the activity sheet to show how you would feel if you had gone into space and landed on the moon! Imagine you are Neil Armstrong and watch the video of the moon landing on youtube to help with this - I have a feeling he would be feeling very excited!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwZb2mqId0A

We have been looking at pictures of a character from a great story. EYFS children have had the story read to them already but Year 1 and 2 children have been trying to figure out what the character does and has asked several questions to him to find out. Do you remember I said I would email the man to ask him your questions? I have had a reply! He has sent us a book all about his life and work - listen to it here .... Bob - Man on the Moon - by Simon Bartram
Over the next 3 days can you listen to the story and Year 1 and 2 children your job is to create a character profile. Could you draw a picture of Bob. Underneath his picture can you write sentences to tell me about Bob and what his job is and what he does each day. Use the video book to help you with this. Remember to say your sentences out loud before writing them and use your phonics to sound out the words.
Year 2 - could you look on the website linked here and find out a little bit more about Neil Armstrong! See if you can write down 3 or 4 facts you can tell us when we are back in school! Things like when he was born. when he went on the Apollo 11 mission to the moon and what did he say when he first stepped foot on the moon! https://www.natgeokids.com/uk/discover/science/space/neil-armstrong-facts/
